Becoming a teacher was not something I thought would be for me. As with everything in life, things fall into place when they are supposed to.

It was January of 2010 when I first walked through the doors of APY. One day Kurt mentioned that a teacher training was coming up. I had heard that yoga teacher training can be a good form of therapy, and I felt, at age 30, some therapy might be just what the doctor ordered.

I asked about the teacher training since my client would be out of town for the month of April. Turns out they were offering one teacher training and it began in April. I immediately pulled out my credit card to sign up.

I had always enjoyed the physical aspects of yoga but it was here that I first began to practice my yoga off the mat. The mat became a microcosm for everything else: the first time I truly became aware of my thoughts, my attitudes, my life.

This past year has been challenging, uncomfortable, high, low, up, down, left, right, upside down, right side up, and everything else in between. It has truly been one of the most extraordinary years of my life.

Yoga is the practice of life, of exploration, movement, change, growth, awareness, and self-discovery. It is an honor to practice life together with you.
